The Vision Steppers were birthed Twenty one years ago by Dabe James at Immaculate Conception School in the South Bronx NY. Vision started as a step team of seven for girls grades 6 and 7 with 10 girls as their founding members. From that small group of seven young ladies, Vision steppers has grown to more than 60 members strong, ranging in ages from 6th Grade to sophomore in college. As a group they have performed and competed in many different cities across the country.
They have earned first place awards in many different competitions: Most recently, they were named the “2015 National Champions” (Minor League) at the National Stepping Association’s Championship in Daytona Florida. Other awards include: The 2015 “Step it up NYC” Top 5 Teams in New York. An appearance at the World Famous Apollo Theatre in Harlem “2013 Northeast Grand Champions in Step” at the Cheer Dance Step America competition in Hershey Park PA. and the “2014 Step For Success” First Place winners in New York State.
Additionally, they earned first place in the “Best of the Best 2009 and 2012” step competition held at Mercy College.
Vision has appeared on television as McDonald’ s Gospelfest finalist 2008-2012, and in a recently aired ESPN documentary about stepping.
